Hey, everyone! How are you doing today? I missed you all so much. ♥
I am finally in the new house! Everything is still a mess and all over the place, but I am SO excited. One of the main reasons is because my new bedroom is amazing and I am completely in love with it.
The family that lived here before us left some furniture behind, including a beautiful bunk bed, which I am currently making plans to paint and give some nice kawaii touches. It’s gonna look so cute, guys! I am so excited. *-*
I used to rent a bedroom in a shared house so I couldn’t make any major changes to it. Which I was totally okay with since it was a temporary place. Now that we rented a house all to ourselves (me, my boyfriend and three other friends), we have full autonomy to do whatever we want to the house.
Obviously, I started making all sorts of plans to turn my bedroom into the ultimate kawaii fortress. And I thought, why not share all these crazy and cute ideas I’ve been having with you guys? That way you can help me choose what to do with my room and get some ideas for yours as well!
So today I am going to share with you some cute bedroom ideas that I had during this week. Buckle up and let’s go!
Fairy Lights All Around
I love fairy lights. They are so cute and romantic, you can put them anywhere to give that extra adorableness to the place.
For my kawaii fortress I am planning to put the lights “under” the bunk bed so they would hover above my head while I am lying down, and all around my stuffie friends. It will look so pretty and I can plug it in close to me so I can turn the lights off easy when I go to sleep. ♥
Pillows are the best thing in the world! I feel like I don’t have enough of them.
I use my bigger stuffed animals as pillows too so they can stay on the bed as decoration AND I can use them to lay down when I need. Very practical. I have talked about some very comfortable and cozy ones you could get for yourself, too.
I want to get a lot of pillows so I can fill both my bed and the top of the bunk bed. I will use the top mostly to read
and hide, so I need it to be as comfy and cozy as possible.
Kawaii Wall Decal
These are so pretty! I have always wanted to put a decal on my walls ever since I was little, and I think now is finally the time! *-*
My new bedroom used to be the kids’ room, so the walls are not exactly in mint condition. There are flaws in the paint in many places and extra holes here and there. So I’m thinking of alternatives other than fix and paint the whole thing, which I do plan on doing in the future. But I’m still working on getting the whole house livable and pretty, so I’ll just leave that mess for later. ^^’
I’m thinking of something very kawaii, like a fairy or mermaid. Or even Sanrio and Ghibli characters, It would be so adorable! ♥
Cute Curtains And Rugs
What’s the point in having an ultra kawaii bedroom if your curtains are ugly?
Curtains are a big part of your room and they draw a lot of attention to themselves. You will want some cute colours and prints, but nothing too extra and flashy.
I would go for some pastel colours that match the rest of your room, like pink, blue or lilac. For prints, try your favourite animals or characters in very light colours and small sizes. The smaller and lighter it is, the cuter your curtains will be!
Kawaii-fy Your Working Area
My bunk bed has many cool built-in features, like a nice writing/working table for my many future DIY projects. And while it is already very sweet and pretty, I do need to give it a good clean and make-over, and my plan is to make it cuter and full of personality!
I’ll use some washi tape and stickers, and put my kawaii trinkets all over it, especially those incredibly cute things I got in my Kawaii Box ♥. I want that space to look as much me as possible. So I can be comfortable staying there for long periods of time.
Use Colours That You Love
Match your bedding set with the curtains and pillows. Paint the walls your favourite pastel tone. Use matching colours for your furniture. It’s your space, make it as comfy and pretty as you deserve!
Like I said before, I’m not going to paint my walls just yet. But I do have plans to get new curtains and I’ll paint this gorgeous vanity to match my bunk bed. I would like to add that it’s the first time I own a vanity and I’m feeling so happy and girly, I just love it.
Kawaii Frames and Posters
Grab the prettiest frames you can find and put your favourite pictures in it. You can leave it in your nightstand and dresser, or hang them around the walls, along with some kawaii posters of your favourite games, movies, characters or bands.
I have so many pictures of family and friends just stored away (in a Snow White photo album, I must add), and I sometimes even forget they are there.
The plan now is to hang the best ones and remind myself of those good times and my loved ones, keeping them a little closer to me while making my bedroom a lot cozier and kawaii. ♥
My Sweet Escape
I tried to keep things fairly simple and easy to make. Even if these may sound like small ideas, they can make a big difference in the overall look of your room. You have no idea how just changing the colour of your bedding set or curtains will give the whole space a new kawaii touch.
And the best part is that it will make you feel better and more comfortable about your bedroom and yourself. I am so excited about all these new ideas and opportunities and I can’t wait to start turning this new space into my pretty kawaii fortress.
What do you guys think about these ideas? Which ones do you like better and thing I should go for? Let me know in the comments if you have some ideas of your own that you think would look awesome for my bedroom, I would love to hear your opinion. ♥
