Hello, my pretty dolls! I missed you. ♥
For the past two weeks, I’ve been searching for new clothes for me and looking for some new ideas, especially in the Lolita department. I recently found this wonderful shop called Milanoo and it’s like a dream come true.
The store has many different clothes for every occasion. From casual to weddings and my focus right now, Lolita Outfits. The best part for me was that the prices are quite accessible, and they have sales very often. *-*
Like I have mentioned before, I am currently in the process of expanding my Lolita wardrobe. And browsing through this new wonderland, I have put together two different Sweet Lolita Outfits, and I would love if you could give me your opinion and help me choose the best one! ^-^
What Makes a Lolita Outfit Sweet?
In one of my first posts, I talked about Lolita Fashion in general. But let’s talk about Sweet Lolita specifically. What is the signature style of the outfit, and what is it that defines it as Sweet?
The Sweet Lolita is the most popular one and the most child-like of them. There are plenty of pastel colours, bows, ribbons and laces, as well as cute prints and patterns, like animals and toys.
It heavily emphasizes on looking cute and girly, but you don’t necessarily need to over-accessorize everything. It can be as simple or full of things as you’d like. Just because your outfit doesn’t have that many elements, it doesn’t mean it’s not sweet.
As long as it’s cute, girly and kawaii, it is a Sweet Lolita Outfit.
What Does My Outfit Need?
All Sweet Lolita Outfits have some basic elements to it:
- Bell Skirts, Dresses or Jumper Skirts;
- Child-like and kawaii themes, like stuffed animals, desserts or fairy-tale elements. Always keeping the pastel tones;
- Headgear like hats and mini-hats, bows, headdresses;
- White or pastel toned stockings, thigh or knee-high socks;
- Pastel coloured Mary-Janes.
What Can I Do To Improve My Look?
While the elements I mentioned before are enough to make a Sweet Lolita Outfit, you can add as many accessories as you’d like, and put your style and personality into it. A few tips into what you can use are these:
- Pretty and sweet purses, usually with animal or fairy-tale themes;
- Plenty of bracelets, rings and necklaces with Sweet Lolita motifs;
- Bows, ribbons and laces on the clothes, hair, socks and shoes.
As I said, there really is not too much or too little of these accessories. Your outfit should show your personality and you have to be as comfortable wearing it as possible. Don’t try to copy other peoples styles or mimic them in all you can.
There is no problem in taking inspiration and following advice (that’s why I write for you guys here. ♥), but remember to always be yourself and embrace your individuality. I’m 100% sure you have something beautiful and unique to show the world, so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. 🙂
Putting Some Good Looks Together ♥
So! I picked a couple of my favourite items and put together two different Sweet Lolita outfits, and I would absolutely (pretty please with cherries on top) love your opinion about them. Shall we?
The Pink Outfit
Headgear: Sweet Lolita Headband Gold Star Ribbons
Accessories: Sweet Lolita Bags Black Printed Lolita Backpack
I chose a very basic and classic pastel pink vibe, with few accessories and a simple look overall. It’s very monotone, with a fairy-tale theme on the backpack (Alice in Wonderland ♥) and some sweet musical notes on the stockings.
It gives off a very kawaii and innocent look, and since I absolutely adore pink, I feel like it would be perfect for me. *-*
The Blue Outfit
Headgear: Blue Cotton Sweet Lolita Bow
For the blue outfit, I also went for a simpler and cleaner look. With a dessert theme in the stockings and sweet accessories, like the big bow on the head and the cute umbrella with laces, it gives off a very sweet and fairy-tale(ish) vibe.
I like the contrast of the wig with the pastel blue of the outfit, and the shoes add a more serious tone to the look overall, while not losing the kawaiiness of the Sweet Lolita style.
I also feel that pastel blue goes wonderfully with my skin tone, so an outfit like this could be perfect for me. ♥
Decisions, Decisions, Decisions…
I must say, it is SO HARD to decide on what to get. There are so many incredible options, and Milanoo is such a good quality store.
One of the main reasons why it’s been hard for me to find good Lolita outfit pieces was the price, and I have considered many times to make my own at home. So I was very excited when I found this store. It was a little hidden, under Costumes and Lolita, but I am glad I was able to find it. <3
I’m thinking since it’s my first Lolita Outfit, I should start easy and buy more and more accessories as times go by. As you can see I chose simple and clean pieces and similar tones, mainly because I think it’ll be smoother for the first time.
But what do you guys think? Which outfit do you like better, or do you think I got everything wrong and have some good tips for me? Do you know any other good stores that are worth it? Help me out in the comments below. ♥
